I started the program in Fall 2022 after a gap year. For the full first year of school, I was a full-time master’s student and full-time employee at Pitt. I could have kept up at that pace but decided I just didn’t want to continue at that pace – these days, I’m valuing moving slowly, without rigid rules, and doing what’s best for me without societal pressure influencing my decisions. It’s hard not to compare to peers graduating faster, and I’m sad my friends are graduating our program this year, but I am so happy with my choice.
